- Digital radiography: Digital X-rays use 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays. With digital x-rays, we are able to see images instantly on our flat screen monitors, the patient can also see the image at the same time, and when needed x-rays are digitally enhanced by magnification, contrast and coloring to better diagnose any treatment needs.
- Modern hand-pieces: They have high torque, they are quiet, with a reduced potential for hearing damage and a less irritating sound for patients, as well as vibration at teeth, which may lead to post-operative sensitivity. The hand-pieces used are available in different speeds in order to choose the most appropriate for a quick yet safe dental treatment and precision cutting with high concentricity.
- Laser-Fluorescence Caries Detection: It’s all about a special intraoral camera with laser which helps diagnose early caries lesions and treat them with small fillings before they become larger and painful. The device is absolutely safe for adults and kids and can also be used during carious tooth cleaning in order to check for residual caries, before restoring the tooth.
- Intra-oral Camera: This camera captures the image of the examined teeth and allows having a magnified image instantly projected at our flat-screen monitors. This aids in detecting any flaws, as well as explaining to our patients the clinical situation and the treatment needs of each tooth.
- Hi-tech Airblaster: Air polishing system which uses air, water, and either sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) or non-sodium powder to remove extrinsic stain, dental plaque and soft debris while simultaneously polishing tooth surfaces. It is used before tooth whitening or after tooth cleaning.
- Digital Photography: We use special digital camera in order to educate the patient, explain the treatment plan, to discuss or show changes in the smile.
- Digital Smile Design Software: In cases of a smile redesign we want to make sure that the planned changes match to your total appearance, to your face characteristics and that tooth proportions look symmetrical and beautiful. This software allows us to check the final result before we even start drilling and filling.
- Dental Loupes: We always use high magnification (2,5X) in order to assure high quality treatment and attention to details.
- Electrotome: Management of soft tissues in cases of deep fillings, gum bleeding before impression taking or when plastic periosurgery is needed, are performed with the electrotome. This device removes excess gum without bleeding or incisions and with less post-operative pain in comparison to the traditional invasive technique.
- Ultrasonic Scaler: This device is used in order to make tooth cleaning more pleasant and time-efficient. With the use of ultrasonic technology the tip is vibrating fast and breaks plaque and calculus in order to remove them from teeth. Less bleeding and less tissue trauma is expected in comparison to traditional hand instruments.
- High-Intensity Curing Light: This ensures that all composite resins used (white fillings, bonding of onlays, crowns, veneers) are efficiently hardened and thus weakening of the materials or release of toxic residual monomers is avoided.
- Sterilization Unit: In Smiles Dental Clinic sterilization is our first priority in order to keep our patients safe and healthy. Our clinic complies with the OSHA (Organization of Sanitation and Hygiene of America) safety regulations for sterilization to ensure that our systems are always effective.
