CREATE A YOUTHFUL SMILE
No pain, no anaesthsis needed, in just a few minutes!
This technique reforms the incisal corners or incisal edges of front teeth in order to offer a harmonic and symmetric contour and repair micro-fractures or surfaces which have been abraded. Despite the fact that cosmetic recontouring is minimally invasive, it can literally alter the appearance of the smile with a small drop of composite resin! A minimal approach, with minimum cost that can turn an aged smile into a youthful, new smile!

It all starts with the design of the appropriate changes on a cast of your teeth or directly intraoral. The changes are then transferred into the mouth by means of a silicone mold. The process is simple and is completed within a few minutes. Usually no tooth reduction is needed and no local anesthesia is required. High-quality aesthetic composite resins are used in order to deliver a natural-looking result. What is really unique with the recontouring composites is that they have a minimum quantity of color but are extremely translucent. Therefore, the underlying tooth color is reflected and the composite gives additional luster. Cosmetic recontouring can be performed on a single tooth which may have been naturally abraded due to its contact with the opposing teeth, or on more front teeth on upper or lower jaw. It can also be combined with other aesthetic dental treatments, such as bonding, veneers, aesthetic white fillings or ceramic crowns, in order recreate the perfect smile, according to every tooth’s needs. Optical illusions which may help teeth looking smaller, bigger, narrower, wider, tilted forwards or backwards etc. can also be created with this technique.
In cases of bruxism or teeth clenching and grinding, or if taking part in sports with high risk of face trauma, like kick-boxing, martial arts, football, basketball etc, a protective mouth guard for jaw stabilization (bruxists) or for trauma (athletes) should be given accordingly after cosmetic recontouring in order to protect your new smile from undesirable wear, cracks or traumatic fractures. There is no contra-indication for choosing cosmetic recontouring, and due to its non-invasive nature, it is also appropriate for young adults, teens or even children. As it doesn’t intervene in dental tissues or requires drilling, cosmetic recontouring is a conservative dental treatment and completely reversible!
